South Florida Fishing Report – April 16, 2009

Thursday, April 16th, 2009 Captain Wally

This afternoon we had a family of five from New York. We tried bait fishing but they were not biting good and we only caught a couple. Then we went trolling trying to catch kingfish, bonito, mahi-mahi, etc. We missed a few bites but caught two small mahis and one cero mackerel. Then we went wreck fishing. The first two wrecks did not produce anything. On the third wreck we tried we missed one fish, redropped and got another bite. We ended up fighting a large amberjack after a 30 minute fight for the 11 year old we had on the boat.
