South Florida Fishing Report – April 15, 2009
We had an afternoon trip again today. We started out catching speedos for bait. We then trolled for a little while and caught a couple of kingfish. The customers wanted to catch something big so we went shark fishing. We had the baits out for about 20 minutes ang got a bite but it did not get hooked. We reset the baits and sat for another 20 minutes and got another bite. We fought the fish for an hour or so before seeing it. We got the leader and brought a hammerhead shark to the side of the boat. After holding it on the leader for pictures, measurements, and tagging we released the shark. We tried for another shark but did not get any more bites. While shark fishing we also jumped off a barracuda and a couple of smaller mahi-mahi.
