The Reel Work – One of the Finest Fishing Charters in Florida
The Reel Work one of South Florida’s most experienced fishing charters. The vessel is a 45 foot Hatteras Sport Fishing boat with a custom tuna tower and is perfectly suited for South Florida fishing conditions. Our salon is fully air conditioned, there is also a roomy cockpit and flybridge, as well as clean restrooms.
We use a wide variety of tackle equipment perfect for all kinds of South Florida fishing conditions and target fish. All our equipment is maintained on a regular basis and always ready for you to use to make the best of your deep sea fishing adventure. Whether bait fish or large game fish, first time angler or seasoned veteran, the Reel Work fishing charters crew is perfectly suited to meet your needs. We’re well-trained, helpful and anxious to do whatever it takes to make your South Florida fishing adventure as safe and enjoyable as possible.
My name is Captain Walter “Wally” Shaw and I’m the captain of the Reel Work. I’m a native Floridian – born and raised in Fort Lauderdale. I’ve been fishing as long as I can remember. My dad took me out on his boat for South Florida fishing adventures whenever he could as I was growing up. When I wasn’t fishing with me dad, you’d often find me fishing in the canals and lakes surrounding our neighborhood.
As my friends and I got older we started fishing from local piers and bridges throughout the Florida Keys. As we got older we’d often set out on drift fishing boats and that’s when my love for South Florida fishing on boats really began to take shape. A few years later I was offered a part-time job on one of the drift boats. I couldn’t think of anything better than getting paid to fish the waters of South Florida. Fishing for free 6-8 times a week was a big perk of the job, too.
After about 6 years I began receiving employment offers from other fishing charters in Florida and began fishing on a full-time basis. I worked my way through the ranks, learning from some of the best captains in the South Florida fishing area has to offer. From part-time mate to full-time captain, I learned what it takes to be among the best of the business when it comes to fishing charters in Florida.
Now I have my own boat. I still enjoy the time I spend on the water as much as I did when I was fishing as a kid. And it’s great to be able to share that enthusiasm with those who visit South Florida. Fishing charters are a fantastic way to create lasting memories and make the most of your vacation!
